Mad Cool festival is gearing up for yet another year of championing artists of genres from all over the world. With an artist for everyone, Here are Karma’s pics of female artists to check out whilst you’re there!
Mexican rock trio The Warning are a force to be reckoned with on stage. Prepare to have your socks blown off by their heavy rock sound and incredible musical talent. For fans of Halestorm and Linkin Park and in preparation listen to ‘Automatic Sun’.
Another unreal rock act is duo Hot Milk from Manchester, with a genre blending sound they push the limits of rock into power pop spaces. Definitely a set you wouldn’t want to miss. For fans of Bring Me The Horizon and Stand Atlantic and in preparation check out ‘90 Seconds to Midnight’.
A second Manchester artist on the lineup, Chloe slater brings political and social awareness to centre stage with insightful lyrics and actions that match her words. Chloe consistently proves you can stand up for what you believe in and still package it within catchy tunes. For fans of Lily Allen and Gracie Abrams and in preparation listen to her newest release ‘Ugly’.
American pop duo Frost Children, a sibling band, will transport you back to 2010’s EDM goodness with a 2020’s hyper pop edge. Just follow the crowd of indie sleaze punters to find them, and you will not regret it. For fans of Skrillex and The Fray. Listen to ‘What is forever for’ before you head to their set.
Irelands’ Cliffords bring cathartic emotions and solid vocals to the table. This is a set to take in the lyrics heard and sit with the stories told in the songs or just enjoy the indie pop tunes in the Spanish sun. For fans of Wolf Alice and Phoebe Bridgers, make sure to listen to ‘My Favourite Monster’ to get in the mood.
Manchester maintains its solid grip on Mad Cool with the appearance of wigan’s TTSSFU. A local shoegaze legend who is quickly rising in popularity across the globe. Her live shows bring chaos and excitement that isn’t always associated with the genre. Go into this set with an open mind and enjoy the show that will unravel in front of you.
