On June 29th, BST Hyde Park returned to central London’s most popular park, and so did the sparkly skirts and love heart sunglasses. Headlining the show was the one and only SZA, who really knew how to get a crowd moving and performed one of the most captivating shows that park has ever seen.

From the moment you stepped into BST Hyde Park, there were compelling smells from food vendors and incredible music even before SZA came on. The sounds came from big names including Sampha, Snoh Aalegra, No Guidnce, Sekou, and many more. This being my first time watching SZA perform, I can safely say her energy traveled and was infectious. She opened with most of her hit songs from SOS, and the crowd made sure to sing back every lyric.

The stage was cleverly decorated and had an array of impressive visuals, including inflatable rocks, a large bug, and a tree branch crossing over the stage, which teased the new theme of her hinted album. During the show, SZA acknowledged the legend Prince in a ‘Kiss Me More’ remix into ‘Hate You,’ playing Prince’s song ‘Kiss.’ A definite highlight towards the end of the night was when she performed ‘Rich Baby Daddy,’ which made the ground shake, had everybody dancing and screaming, creating an incredible atmosphere.

The night concluded with fans leaving the park buzzing with excitement, many of them still humming their favorite SZA tunes. The blend of her soulful voice, energetic performance, and the electric crowd created a memorable experience. SZA’s performance at BST Hyde Park was a testament to her talent and ability to connect with her audience, leaving everyone eager for her next show.
