Following the success of her debut album, ‘The Wrong Side Of 25’, Grace Davies is revisiting her emotion-packed track ‘Butterflies’, this time, with the addition of South Shields artist Sonny Tennet, and it is the perfect pairing.

The song begins with finger-picked acoustic guitar and Davies softly crooning the lyrics. As Tennet gets added into the mix, his voice perfectly complements Davies’, and their melodic harmonies enhance the track, making it feel even more emotional.

Speaking about the collaboration, Davies says “I’ve been a huge fan of Sonny for some years now, his voice is unbelievable, and I was so pumped when he said yes to featuring on Butterflies. I just let him do his thing and he sent back pretty much what you hear now — he’s ridiculous and it’s only added even more emotion.”

Davies wrote ‘Butterflies’ about her grandparents who struggled with Alzheimer’s and dementia. The song’s honest lyrics show Davies’ ability to handle such emotional subject matter with care and vulnerability, creating a touching track that many will relate to.

Grace Davies’ introspective writing style and Sonny Tennet’s emotional vocals combine perfectly on this re-imagined version of ‘Butterflies’. Both artists are just getting started and I, for one, am looking forward to seeing what they do next.
