People are often told to pick just one lane. At just 21 years old, singer-songwriter, model and actress, Seanna Pereira is refusing to be constrained by society and put herself in a box. Having starred in Fox’s 24: Legacy and CW’s Valor, she is now ready to conquer the music world. Hot on the heels of her debut single ‘Options’, ‘Arsonist’ shows an even more unfiltered aspect of Pereira’s artistry.

‘Arsonist’ combines ear worm hooks, pop sensibilities, and honest songwriting to create a catchy and relatable track, not unlike those of pop princess Tate McRae. This song is made for the big stages — the soaring choruses and Pereira’s strong vocals make it perfect to be played in a packed arena or stadium.

Speaking about the track, Pereira says “‘Arsonist’ is about craving something you know will hurt you, but wanting it anyway. It’s that intoxicating pull toward a person you should walk away from, but can’t. Even when everyone warns you against it, you still choose to run toward the fire.”

The song explores the push and pull between the logical and emotional sides of your brain, and lines like “And hit me with those burning eyes / I can’t sleep alone / I’ll let you rule my life / ‘till it’s up in smoke”, show Pereira’s willingness to make her feelings known. This candid style of writing stands her in good stead to become pop’s next big thing.

With just two singles released so far, Seanna Pereira’s capabilities as a singer and songwriter are clearly very promising. ‘Arsonist’ is just a taste of what is to come, and with the release of her upcoming debut EP, Pereira is sure to continue proving her talents.
