Energetic, animated and captivating, Pauli The PSM (AKA Pauli Lovejoy) brought his ‘Saucy’ tour to Glasgow last week as he began his UK and Europe leg.
The musician, who has an impressive portfolio of production and composition work as well as a flare for modelling, showed they are nothing short of remarkable.
The show opened with Chef the Rapper, an act from Aberdeen who helped excite the crowd with his lively personality and ability to captivate the audience. After performing several songs, dancing amongst the crowd and teaching us his lyrics. The set gave a taster of his admirable discography and helped him gain a whole new fan base.

Shortly after Chef wrapped up his performance, mist filled the stage as Nigel Ruwende experimented with sound, playing a veritable mix of music to hype up the crowd and create a rowdy yet benevolent atmosphere.
Pauli then strutted to the stage to perform his eclectic set to the eager listeners who were ready to scream every word. Whilst performing his single “Lord Give Me Strength” he held a bouquet of roses behind his back. After this song, they climbed to the pit where he proceeded to hand out individual flowers to those in the crowd who promptly gasped and fawned over the musician.
Whilst showcasing their voice, Pauli also proved why he is named one of the world’s best drummers by Wired and The Guardian. He impressed with several drum solos including an instrumental break during “Waiting (Getting On This train)”, as the audience cheered and roared.
Pauli later performed a brand-new song titled “Handsome”, pairing it with a choreographed dance that the crowd could participate in as he was joined on stage by Ramario Chevoy. The pair went on to carry out multiple dances as the set continued, which was well-received by the dazzled audience.
Their true passion for performing and adoration for their fans was demonstrated throughout the whole gig as Lovejoy interacted with the crowd. Whether it was wearing a hat made by a concertgoer, answering a fans facetime, taking another’s BeReal, incorporating a fans name into the chorus of his song or joining in the traditional “no Scotland, no party” chant, Pauli made it clear that he is a true showman who understands his fans and knows how to engage with and entertain a crowd.
After walking through the audience and jumping onto the bar, Pauli concluded his show, performing an exciting encore of “I Don’t Care”. The musician was applauded and cheered with many fans staying later for pictures and a chit chat with him, with Pauli happily obliging and appearing to enjoy this interaction.
After touring with Harry Styles, opening for U2 at their residency and now kicking off their UK and Europe tour, we cannot wait to see what Pauli the PSM has in store in what promises to be a very bright future.
