Glasgow artist Sadie!’s career has been fifteen years in the making. After writing and recording her songs in the privacy of her bedroom for the past decade and a half, she’s now ready to let people into her world, with the release of her indie-pop and synth infused debut single ‘nothing ever happens’.
Sadie! typically works in her bedroom, writing, recording, producing and mixing each track independently. She enlisted the help of Philadelphia-based producer MCKNZ and Joni, both from the Daisy Corner collective, to master the single, which has proved to be a fitting choice.
The song begins with delicately fingerpicked acoustic guitar and soft vocals, which perfectly compliment each other. Her Scottish accent can be heard on certain lines, giving the song a sense of authenticity and perhaps even vulnerability. As the track progresses, synths and layered vocals enhance the sound, making it feel all consuming, much like the feelings that it addresses in its poetic lyrics.
The song charts the early stages of a relationship, perfectly capturing the hopefulness and trepidation involved. Sadie!’s confessional style of songwriting and ability to bear her feelings stand her in good stead to earn a loyal audience, as many will undoubtably find her lyrics to be very relatable.

Sadie! has made a promising debut with ‘nothing ever happens’ and, luckily, she has even more in store for us.
