Lambrini Girls have been on the tip of everyone’s tongue recently. They’re in the charts, the headlines, and now they’re on tour. The two-piece aren’t new to the attention though, and have often come under fire for shedding light on social causes snubbed by the media. This latest round of dragging is just another day standing up for what’s right in our dystopian world.

Phoebe and Lily take to stage at Glasgow’s St Luke’s and ask the crowd, “Who’s ready to f*ck?” A chorus of screams answer, unconvinced Phoebe responds, “Sounds like you’re maybe ready to f*ck… I’m gonna ask you again”. This time a massive yell is let out as ‘Big Dick Energy’ begins. A mosh pit breaks out almost immediately and sets the tone for the rest of the night.
Lily hops down to the barrier with their bass as Phoebe jumps over it and spreads the crowd apart. “If you are able to get down… on the floor!” they say. Almost everyone crouches down to wait for command as Phoebe joins in and sits in the middle. Phoebe continues to sing as Lily plays, then runs back up to stage for the drop and lets the crowd have at it.

‘Help Me I’m Gay’ is up next and Phoebe is in the crowd once more: “Hands up if you’re queer”, they call. Hands all around the venue shoot up as they pick “a queer legend” of the night. First legend picked, they find another, and the chaos continues.
A good few mosh pits later it’s clear Phoebe and Lily certainly know how to entertain a crowd. What they bring is so much more than a good time though, as Phoebe pipes up, “It goes without saying, but if anyone in this room doesn’t want a free Palestine get the f*ck out”. The crowd makes sure where they stand is clear as “Free, Free Palestine” is bellowed. Lambrini Girls curate a space for change, and in our current state it couldn’t be more needed.

Phoebe doesn’t shy away from getting in amongst the action at any point. Inciting mosh after mosh, standing up in the hands of the crowd, surfing over them and even giving their mic to audience members to scream into or hold while they sing.
Lambrini Girls are exactly what the music industry needs at the moment. They stand up for what they believe in and support others to do the same. If you don’t like the message they spread, it’s probably about time you got on the right side of history.
