New Hope Club returned to Glasgow on September 24th as part of the UK leg of their 2024 tour, putting on an unforgettable show for fans.
Saintclair opened up the concert with an energetic set, which successfully warmed the crowd up. His performance of ‘Good Life’ showcased his talents as a performer.
His unique sound which combines hip-hop and 90s pop makes him a standout act, and definitely one to look out for.
New Hope Club opened up their set with crowd-pleaser ‘Fixed’, a track which was first released in 2017 on their debut EP.
Their set combined a heavy dose of nostalgia with a glimpse of their new sound, giving fans the best of both worlds.
Having originally started out with an acoustic pop vibe, the band’s new tracks hint at a more sophisticated sound. In particular, ‘Walk It Out’ and unreleased track ‘Who Are You’ signal a shift in their music towards a more Indie Rock sound.
The latter already sounds like a hit, and is sure to be popular once released. Nevertheless, The Beatles influence on the band still shines through, and was particularly apparent on ‘Whatever’.
It is clear that New Hope Club have found their own sound which reflects their influences and demonstrates their talents.
Stereo provided a cosy and intimate vibe for the set, but the crowd did not disappoint. Fan favourite ‘Medicine’ provoked the loudest response from the crowd, with fans dancing along and shouting out the lyrics.
By interacting with the crowd between songs, the band showed their ability to
connect with their fans, which has earned them a loyal fanbase.
I first saw New Hope Club perform as the opening act for The Vamps on their 2016 arena tour, and it has been amazing to see how far they have come since then. Having followed their career from the start, I have to say that they just keep getting better.
Their set showcased their talents both as musicians and entertainers, proving that they have a lot to offer. This gig was one of the most enjoyable I have been to, and I am already looking forward to seeing them again when they return to the UK.
It is clear that the band has exciting times ahead, and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for the future.
