Legendary composer Hans Zimmer brought his ‘Hans Zimmer Live’ tour to Vancouver on October 6. The show took place in a packed Roger’s Arena with a crowd unlike anything else I’ve seen before.
There was a sense of awe in the air as the lights dimmed and the orchestra swelled. After a short intro, the multi-grammy and oscar award winning Zimmer took to the stage to perform an intro song of House Atreides, from Dune.
Throughout the night, Zimmer and the live orchestra took the audience through a cinematic journey of sound. From famous hits like “Interstellar” and “Dark Night Suite” to more subtle performances, the show brought something for everyone.
One thing that took me by surprise was just how enthralled the audience was. Barely a phone in sight, but plenty of tears. It was truly a surreal experience for film lovers and the energy in the room was incredible.
