Currently on tour with ROLE MODEL, Chloe Slater is one busy woman. Despite her packed schedule, she has released a new single this week and it’s quite the song. ‘War Crimes’ is Slater’s first protest song, chronicling the injustices committed against Palestinians by Israel. In fact, the single’s cover is a piece of artwork by Palestinian artist Ahmed Al Da’alsa who documents the occupation in his work. It is a powerful call to action.
The single has an edgy sound, with rocky electric guitar and loud drums from the outset. Slater’s vocal talents shine on ‘War Crimes’ and the emotions of the track are palpable as she belts out the lyrics. The song has catchy and powerful choruses which employ layered vocals, with Slater shouting out some of the lines for extra emphasis. This added element makes the listener feel like they are actually at a protest, crying out for change.
Speaking about the song, Slater says “I can only hope it keeps sparking conversations and encouraging people to think critically about the world we live in.” Slater’s commitment to standing tall against injustice and using her talents to bring awareness to issues which are close to her heart are a testament to her integrity as an artist, which is sure to inspire both listeners and fellow artists.

The lyrics are a protest against the UK government’s complicity in Israel’s genocide against Palestinians. Truth is at the centre of everything Slater does, and this song is no different. The lyrics are bold and discomforting, laying bear the horrific abuses that Palestinians have been subjected to.
‘War Crimes’ is the perfect protest anthem. Slater’s commitment to justice and telling the truth is something which has earned her a passionate and devoted fan base. This song shows the singer at her best: exposing harsh truths while leaning into her talents. With this song, Slater champions Palestinian people’s rights and calls on governments to do the right thing: stop the persecution of the Palestinian people.

In support of Ahmed and his family, Slater is releasing a limited edition t-shirts and tote bags featuring his artwork, with all profits donated directly to his GoFundMe campaign to help their safe relocation to Egypt.
