Combining pop sensibilities and observant lyricism has become Leeds-based artist Lois’ forte. Her latest single continues that same pattern, but signifies a bold new chapter for the rising artist. Dust off your dance shoes and get ready to groove; you won’t be able to help yourself when you hear ‘Small Town Party Girl’.

With melodic choruses, scintillating sax solos, and a catchy dance break in the latter half of the track, ‘Small Town Party Girl’ is one of those songs that gets into your bones and just makes you move. Inspired by the likes of Prince and Madonna, the song is dripping in 80s pop and dance influences, making for a very fun listen.

With such infectious hooks and captivating vocals, it comes as no surprise that Lois has been dubbed one to watch, has been featured on Elton John’s radio show, and bagged herself a support slot with none other than Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

Taking inspiration from Lois’ younger years spent in her birthplace of Morecambe, the song pays homage to the woman who is not afraid to get her moves out, no matter the party’s setting. Speaking about the song, Lois says “I wrote Small Town Party Girl about growing up in my hometown. There was very little going on, but if there’s one thing people from a small town know how to do, it’s throw a party. I remember being dragged along to the parties my parents were invited to as a kid at the working men’s clubs back home. It was always the same beige buffet, the same 80’s playlist and the same woman on the dancefloor. She was the last one standing every time. I was always mesmerised by her, and that she didn’t care what anyone thought, to her, there was no one else in the room. Just her and the dancefloor. I was hooked.”
