Poem by Marie Powell

In shadows deep, where fears reside,

A heart once bold now falters wide, Each scar a tale of trust betrayed,

In walls of stone, vulnerability swayed.

Yet in the hush of midnight’s call,

A whispered voice, a gentle drawl, A hand outstretched, a beacon bright,

Guiding through the darkest night.

With trembling soul and cautious gaze,

She ventures forth through misty haze,

For in the warmth of genuine care,

She finds the courage to bare.

No fortress stands, no armor strong,

But in this vulnerability, she finds her song,

For in the risk of letting go,

She discovers the strength she didn’t even know.
