With a golden house/pop crossover and immense danceability, dancer, actress and now popstar METTE’s latest single ‘BET’ is the perfect release for a bank holiday weekend.
Heralding in the sun, sand, and sangria with its funky bassline and dancefloor ready chorus, the single is the sound of the sweatiest of summers. It was made for carefree club nights with the girls, for dancing the night away with a drink in hand, and so could (and should) easily be on every DJ’s rotation in the next few months.
Marking METTE’s second release of the year, and closely following on from her Ivor-Novello nomination for 2023 track ‘MAMA’S EYES’, ‘BET’ merely continues the singer’s already meteoric rise to stardom. Having supported Jessie Ware on her UK tour, worked with Pharrell, and proven herself to be a creative hit-maker time and time again, it feels like there’s nothing this former dancer and triple threat can’t do.
To put it purely and simply, ‘BET’ is not only joy unbounded but is also a clear sign of METTE’s enduring artistry, addictive musicianship, and firm position as one of 2024’s big breakout stars. She is a head-spinningly good artist and should be on everyone’s summer radar.
