Two Door Cinema Club have been making groovy, uplifting music for almost 20 years.

Now on tour, TDCC have swung by Toronto once again to jam out with their Canadian fans. Opening for TDCC is flipturn, an American indie-rock band who are very quickly accumulating a following. After releasing their debut album, ‘Shadowglow’ two years ago, flipturn have toured the United States and performed at festivals such as Lollapalooza, Governor’s Ball, and SXSW. Fans at Toronto’s show especially enjoyed ‘Sad Disco’, a favourite from ‘Shadowglow’. Many of flipturn’s music has a danceability not unlike that of TDCC and the Floridian band brings an energy unlike most openers. Hopefully we can see more of them in the future on a headline tour of their own.

While TDCC is putting out new work, this tour features work from their whole discography. The crowd was jumping, dancing, and clapping along to longtime fan favourites such as ‘Changing of the Seasons’ and ‘What You Know’ , but also newer jams such as ‘Everybody’s Cool’ and most recently, ‘Happy Customers’.

The band’s stamina never faltered and energy was at an all-time high throughout the night. Fans left the show fully satisfied after a cathartic, powerful, and carefree concert-going experience. And with a new single out, I’m sure fans are eager for another album release in the near future.

If you’re hoping to catch TDCC on tour, tickets are still available online for the
UK, Europe, and United States. For die-hard and casual fans alike, you can expect a worthwhile and extremely enjoyable time.
