Emerging pop artist FLEUR ROUGE’s latest single, ‘Homesick’ combines contrasting light and dark sounds with refreshing honesty, resulting in a powerful and confident track.
Featuring pitch-perfect vocals delivered with confidence, FLEUR’s vocal skills take centre stage on the song, with the melodious and soaring chorus sure to get stuck in your head after just one listen. Electro-pop production and moody undertones give the song an edginess which is reflected in its dark and candid lyrics.
Vulnerable and honest, ‘Homesick’ charts the heartbreak FLEUR experienced when her parents got divorced. By staying true to herself and tapping into her deepest emotions, she has crafted a relatable and introspective track, and a mid-verse language switch to French provides a nod to her upbringing in France and an unexpected yet delightful twist.

Speaking about the song’s subject matter, FLEUR said: “I felt conflicted when it was happening as I knew my parents would be happier separated but the loneliness and fear you feel when your family is about to be pulled apart is something I know is felt universally but at the time it felt like no-one I knew could relate to what I was going through.”
‘Homesick’ is an emotive anthem which sees FLEUR ROUGE stepping into her pop persona with a sense of ambition and uniqueness. With recognition from the likes of BBC Radio 1, BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio, FLEUR ROUGE is definitely one to watch.
‘Homesick’ will grace streaming services on July 25th, but in the meantime make sure to check out the rest of FLEUR ROUGE’s discography on Spotify.
