Anna Lynch has been quickly making a name for herself in the Manchester music scene, playing in some of the city’s most illustrious venues with her unique jazzy, soul-pop style. Ahead of her first headline gig in September, she unveiled her debut single.

The singer released her first track, Wake Up, on August 22, establishing herself as a promising, upcoming artist to have on your radar. The song is a soulful, seamless blend of multiple genres and an instant mood-booster.

It’s easy-listening backing track is a jazzy and upbeat, yet soft and relaxing melody, with a catchy chorus and relatable and interpretable lyrics that, in my opinion, help the listeners to explore their feelings of belonging, identity and girlhood.

The song also touches on self-discovery, how you can become the person you dream of being and achieve the goals that seem impossible, whilst still being human and making errors or simply being unsure and scared to change.

It is the first single to be revealed in the lead-up to Anna’s highly anticipated EP and, if this song is anything to go off of, the album will be one to look out for. The track is available across streaming platforms now and Anna will be supporting Vala at the Kamera Ballroom on November 7th with tickets available online.
